The TOEFL iBT Exam

The Most Important Thing To Know…  (first)

What Do I Do First - GiveMeSomeEnglish!!!

Preparing for The TOEFL iBT Exam is something that I have been helping students with for many years now, and I can say — with absolute confidence — that the MOST important thing that someone preparing to take The TOEFL iBT Exam needs to do FIRST is…

Know The Format Of The Exam!!!

What Does This Entail?

Until one knows those things thoroughly, it is completely pointless to waste any money on taking The Exam.  The reason for this is very simple.

The TOEFL iBT Exam Does NOT Test How Much A Person Knows — But How Well A Person Will Be Able To Function In An English-Speaking University-Type Environment

The Ability To Learn - GiveMeSomeEnglish!!!

In Other Words — It Tests A Person’s Ability To Learn And To Demonstrate What He Or She Has Learned.

Therefore — a person with a large vocabulary, who has achieved a very high skill-level of English can “fail”, utterly, if he or she does not know what to expect, and does not know how to answer each Question-Type and how to fulfill each Task-Type on The Exam.

TOEFL Fail - GiveMeSomeEnglish!!!

Where-as — a person with only a moderate vocabulary and an intermediate skill-level of English — who knows EXACTLY what to expect in each section — AND knows how to answer each Question-Type and fulfill each Task-Type — can achieve a perfect score on The Exam!

TOEFL Like A Boss - GiveMeSomeEnglish!!!

So if you pay a lot of money for a TOEFL Preparation Course at a traditional language school, and the instructor does NOT go over The Format Of The Exam in the first day of class…  then go ask for your money back!

How Do I Know If I’m “Good Enough”

If you want to know if you have a high-enough English level to take The TOEFL iBT Exam, then there is one quick way to find out…  If you read this article and comprehended most of it, without having to translate it or look up a lot of words…  then your level of English comprehension is (probably) high enough.

As for How To Answer The Questions & Fulfill The Tasks in the different sections of The Exam — Well, that is why we have created The TOEFL Excellence Training System (and are expanding it every day).

If you want help preparing for The TOEFL iBT Exam, and you don’t want to spend money on a text-book or a class that gives you a lot of information that is not directly related to achieving the score you need — then check out The Courses That We Offer You Here.

Every course in the TOEFL Excellence System was designed & created based upon — not only my experience from teaching students from various text-books, but also — the fact that most text-books and traditional courses are NOT designed with YOUR end-goal in mind.  TOEFL Excellence IS. 😎

Nailed It - GiveMeSomeEnglish!!!

Some of the courses are still in development, but the core of what you need is already available at a drastically discounted rate while we finish things up.  That means that if you buy now, you get the courses for less than half the price of most courses, while still getting more…  AND there is still more to come.

AND…

If you decide that you need or want to take the TOEFL Dominator Course, or any of The Master Courses, you will receive discounts if you sign up for either “The Format…” course, or the “How To Answer…” course.

And Just To Let You Know — All of the information from “The Format…” is in “How To Answer…” — all of the information from “How To Answer…” is in “TOEFL Dominator…”AND… All of The Master Courses are basically The “TOEFL Dominator…” broken up into each section.

Finally — If you take one course and then decide that you want to upgrade to the next level up — we’ll give you a discount…  So no matter what, we’ve got you covered.  😎

Have An Excellent Day!

  3. Hafsha says:

    Please,when are the results released?

  4. The Teacher says:

    Hello Hafsha,

The results are available on-line about 10 days after you finish the exam. You are supposed to receive an email to alert you when they are available.

Printed scores are sent to whomever you choose to have them sent to (Universities, etc.) about 13 days after you finish the exam.

It is stated, however, that though they are sent 13 after the exam, that it could take 7-10 days for those recipients to receive the scores, if they are mailed within The United States and may take “more time” when being mailed elsewhere.

I know that none of this is very exact, but that is what is stated on the page about this on the official website.

So, to summarize, if you have to have the scores to a specific institution by any set date, you should plan to take the exam no later than 1 month before that time… (but even earlier is better in case you need to re-take the exam, or for any other un-foreseen obstacle).

    I hope that helps.

    Have An Excellent Day

P.S. you can read the info on the official page here

Thank you for the response, I have a burning question, am a trip of English language in my African country, but I apply for teaching jobs on dubai and one of the requirements is a toefl certificate, so am I supposed to be studying this and sit the exam, or is it the appropriate certificate for the English language job seeker

  6. The Teacher says:

    Hello Ritah,

    Thank you for the message.
If that is the requirement for the job, then I guess that is what you will have to do. However, I can also say that having the TOEFL “certificate” can help you in other ways as well. Such as: University programs, other jobs, and even immigration. So it will be something that you can definitely use again if you do take it.

There is not really a “certificate”, but the organization that organizes and administers the exam keeps your scores on file for 2 years after the testing date, so you have access to them for that amount of time.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
